. His family has confirmed that he died on Sunday morning after complaining of chest pains. He was 53 years. His cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Fifty-three-year-old Shabangu was best known for his roles in television programmes Rhythm City Home Sweet Home and The Lab. The SAFTA award-winning star rose to prominence for starring in shows such as The Lab Number Number and Rhythm City. The award-winning actor playwright and theatre director passed away at his home in Mpumalanga.

He was rushed to the clinic and on arrival he was certified dead. He has won numerous awards including the KKNK Karna for best actor in the theater production Tshepang and the Graham Lindop Award for the most improved actor in 2004. The 2016 movie Vaya made Mncedisi Shabangu whose real name is Mncedisi Baldwin Shabangu popular for his portrayal of Madoda.
